The ANZUNS Strategic Plan outlines our roadmap for achieving our mission and vision of becoming the leading hub in urological nursing practice within Australia and New Zealand

Clinical Practice

  • Identify clinical resource needs for members.
  • Contribute to the development and/or adoption of evidence-based clinical guidelines for urological nursing practices.
  • Identify and establish a core research group within the organisation.
  • Engage as a member of government committees and other organisations to contribute to the development of policies that shape clinical standards and practices within the urological nursing field.

Education & Mentorship

  • Continue to provide structured education opportunities:
    • Annual Scientific Meeting
    • ANZUNS study days
    • Webinars
  • Establish scholarships within ANZUNS to support members in pursuing further education, clinical practice development, and research endeavours.
  • Support establishment of special interest groups within ANZUNS to provide a platform for members with common professional interests to collaborate, share knowledge and resources, and drive innovation in specialised areas of urological nursing practice.
  • Establish a robust mentorship program within ANZUNS to facilitate the linking of experienced mentors with mentees.
  • Establish a system for recognising and celebrating the contributions of members within ANZUNS.
  • Actively contribute to the development of an international urological nursing education framework.
  • Initiate and develop an international/national exchange program within ANZUNS to facilitate professional development opportunities, cultural exchange, and the sharing of best practices among urological nursing professionals globally/nationally.

Collaboration

  • Implement a membership drive campaign to increase membership numbers, diversity, and engagement.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders to foster collaboration and innovation.
  • Enhance representation and collaboration with other international urological nursing societies and relevant organisations.
  • Foster strategic collaborations with educational institutions to enhance professional development opportunities.

Organisational Efficiency & Effectiveness

  • Establish a robust financial structure within ANZUNS to ensure fiscal responsibility, sustainability, and transparency, incorporating effective budgeting, revenue expansion, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to cultivate a reliable and sustainable income stream for ANZUNS, including expanding funding sources, optimising membership dues and fees, and exploring opportunities for sponsorships, grants, and partnerships.
